Members of the Community Advice Network (CAN) – local advice charities
Independent advice charities work across Bradford District, providing advice direct to local communities. Our advice is free, independent, confidential, impartial and quality assured. Please go to the Home Page to search for advice services near you or view basic contact details for all CAN members.
We help people with problems about debt, benefits, tax credits, Universal Credit, disability allowances, housing, homelessness, employment rights, fuel, immigration, nationality, consumer, community care, health, family and related issues.
We help you resolve your problems. We explain your options and the possible outcomes of different courses of action. We don’t tell you what to do – we encourage you to make your own decisions and to act for yourself. But we may also take action on your behalf if you cannot act for yourself and there is no one else (eg family, friend, support worker) who can help you.
Bradford District Community Advice Network – the federation of local advice services
Community Advice Network staff provide support to CAN members via this website and other project work. For example, CAN staff produce a regular newsletter for CAN members, represent advice services and their clients on local partnership boards, arrange liaison meetings with Bradford Council and Jobcentre Plus and provide a first point of contact for funders and other external stakeholders.
